Jisoo and Zayn’s new song “Eyes Closed” has taken over the global charts since it dropped on October 10, 2025, and it’s not hard to see why. The duet blends Jisoo’s husky, emotional tone with Zayn’s smooth, soulful voice.
The song is gentle, emotional, and surprisingly addictive, and the numbers it has pulled in so far prove just how much people have connected with it.
The track debuted at #1 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart, showing just how eagerly fans had been waiting for it. In the U.S., it opened at #3 on the iTunes Top Songs chart, while climbing to #1 in more than 33 countries across Asia, Europe, and South America. These countries include Ireland, Egypt, the UAE, Mexico, Norway, Jordan, Singapore, Peru, Qatar, and more.
On YouTube, the Eyes Closed music video broke the 2025 record for the biggest 24-hour debut for a male-female duet, pulling in between 9.44 and 10.5 million views in its first day. It also shot straight to #1 on YouTube’s Worldwide Trending chart within a few hours of its release.
The success didn’t stop there; it also reached #2 on the European iTunes chart and became the Top New Entry on the Worldwide Apple Music Songs chart. It secured the 21st spot on the Global Spotify Chart with 3.25 streams.
Musically, Eyes Closed is a soulful pop ballad about the fragile beauty of new love — the kind that grows while two people are still healing from old scars. The lyrics center on the idea of “falling in love with our eyes closed,” a poetic way of saying that love can thrive only when the past no longer holds control.
For Jisoo, this release marks another turning point in her solo career. Eyes Closed came eight months after her first solo album, Amortage, where she explored her identity outside of BLACKPINK. This new track shows a completely different side of her, more relaxed, more experimental, and more emotionally transparent.
It’s also her first major collaboration with a Western artist, and it feels like a natural step forward. Zayn, formerly of One Direction, brings years of experience in pop and R&B, and his chemistry with Jisoo feels effortless.
The music video, released simultaneously, added even more layers to the story. It opens with both artists adrift in a futuristic, almost dreamlike setting — two people moving through separate orbits until their paths finally align.
On the work front, Jisoo has remained active with BLACKPINK, performing songs from Amortage while also promoting her acting projects like the drama Newtopia and the film Omniscient Reader The Prophecy. After a short break, BLACKPINK will resume the ‘Deadline’ tour in Taiwan on October 18-19.
