Park Bo Gum will return as the host for the 2025 MAMA Awards ceremony, happening next month.
On October 29, CJ ENM announced that Park will host the first day of the show, called Chapter 1, which takes place at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on November 28 and 29. The event is sponsored by Visa and will stream live worldwide on several digital platforms, including Mnet Plus.
This year marks his seventh time hosting the MAMA Awards. He first took on the role in 2017 and has since hosted in 2018, 2019, and every year from 2022 to 2024. With this year’s ceremony, Park Bo Gum will have hosted the event a total of seven times, which shows just how closely his name is tied to the MAMA stage.
The 32-year-old actor has been part of several key moments in MAMA’s history. He hosted during the show’s rebranding period and was there when it expanded to the U.S. market in 2024.
He has also led ceremonies held at Japan’s major venues, including Nagoya, Osaka, and Tokyo Dome. Last year, he hosted the U.S. part of the show at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on November 21. The second night in Japan, on November 2,3 was hosted by actress Kim Tae Ri.
His return this year is especially meaningful as it coincides with Mnet’s 30th anniversary. The 2025 MAMA Awards will take place at Hong Kong’s new Kai Tak Stadium, a major venue expected to attract music fans from around the world. Park Bo Gum is known for his calm and steady hosting style, as well as his warm and professional image.
This year’s ceremony carries the theme “UH-HEUNG,” which focuses on accepting oneself and living genuinely, regardless of background or culture. The “Good Boy” actor is expected to share this message in his opening.
Outside of hosting, Park Bo Gum is set to star in a new historical drama film directed by Jang Hoon, known for A Taxi Driver. The film will explore a rivalry between two princes over a famous Korean painting, inspired by themes similar to King Lear and Succession. Filming began in mid-October 2025 and marks his return to a period role.
He was also recently announced as the narrator for the upcoming MBC Radio documentary With a Heart That Sings the Stars, which airs on November 1, 2025. The program celebrates the life and works of Korean poet Yun Dong Ju, and gives Park Bo Gum another opportunity to show a more artistic side of his career.
