Stray Kids, the sensational K-pop group known for their electrifying performances and powerful music, has achieved yet another remarkable milestone. They have been honored by TIME magazine, earning a coveted spot on the prestigious 2023 Next Generation Leaders list.
On October 5, TIME magazine announced 10 visionary trailblazers, and Stray Kids was one of them. The magazine lauded the group for sticking to their ‘grungier headbanging anthems’ despite the initial criticism. They embraced their ‘distinct sound’ and did not shift gears to match the expectations of a K-pop group.
The magazine also quoted Changbin who expressed his desire to have their music recognized as the ‘Stray Kids genre’. The magazine also highlighted the role of JYP Entertainment’s partnership with Republic Records in contributing to Stray Kids’ global success.
This is not the first time Stray Kids have made it to the coveted TIME’s list. Back in 2020, Stray Kids was the only K-pop group that made it to TIME’s list of ‘The Best Songs of 2020′. Stray Kids’ song Black Door was ranked number 8 on the aforesaid list.
Lastly, TIME recognizes Stray Kids as the next generation of leaders, highlighting their influence and ability to connect with their audience on a profound level. The group’s commitment to addressing important social issues through their music has resonated with fans, making them a voice for the youth.
