Netflix has confirmed that Single’s Inferno, also known as Solo Hell, will return for a sixth season. The announcement came on February 12 and makes it the first Korean unscripted series to reach season six. No other variety show on the platform has achieved this milestone.

The show takes place on “Hell Island,” where singles must form couples to escape. It is a dating reality show that combines romance and competition. Single’s Inferno season five, released on January 20, also became a fan-favorite, and production for the new season started quickly.

The buzz around season five was unlike anything the franchise had seen before. It ranked second in the global top 10 non-English shows for three consecutive weeks, according to Netflix’s “Tudum” chart. It also ranked first in Korea, Hong Kong, and other countries. Good Data Corporation reported that Single’s Inferno 5 ranked first in TV-OTT non-drama program buzz, and cast member Choi Minsu topped individual buzz rankings.

The production team thanked fans for loving the recent season and promised to make season 6 “even hotter.”

The show has only grown bigger with every season. Season one became the first Korean variety program to enter Netflix’s Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) chart. Season two stayed on the chart for four weeks and had over 65 million viewing hours. Season three remained in the global top 10 for five weeks and appeared in the top 10 in 31 countries. Season four set records for first-week viewing hours. Season five was the strongest yet, ranking second globally for three consecutive weeks.

The series remains popular because its format keeps evolving. Each season introduces a new group of singles and adds fresh twists. Season three split the cast between two Inferno islands. Season four focused on raw, unfiltered interactions. Season five increased the emotional stakes and kept viewers stressed about who would pair up with whom.

The hosts are also a big part of the appeal. Hong Jin Kyung, Lee Da Hee, Kyuhyun, Hanhae, and Dex provide sharp, sometimes brutal commentary. Fans look forward to seeing how the panel reacts in season six, especially after the intense flirting in season five.

Producer Kim Jae-won said the original goal was to reach ten seasons, but now he thinks the show could reach twenty. Host Hong Jin-kyung added, “Making it to season five proves the show could go to season fifty. It’s hard to reach five, but once you pass that point, the possibilities open up.”

Netflix has not announced a release date for Single’s Inferno season six. The last two seasons premiered in January, so early 2027 is a reasonable guess. Production is likely already underway.
