Lee Yoo Mi may soon appear in a new SBS drama alongside Kim Nam Gil. Reports on March 11 said the 31-year-old actor is positively considering an offer to star in the upcoming sci-fi series “Nightmare.”
According to her agency, Varo Entertainment, the actress has received the casting offer and is reviewing it. Earlier this month, Kim Nam Gil’s agency Gilstory Entertainment also confirmed that the actor had been offered a leading role in the same drama. However, his appearance in the sci-fi series has not yet been finalized.
“Nightmare” is described as a sci-fi hero drama set in a world where artificial intelligence can enter human dreams and create nightmares for criminals. Instead of sending offenders to prison, a mysterious dark hero punishes them by making sure they cannot sleep peacefully. The story explores technology that can manipulate the human subconscious and the crimes connected to it.
Lee Yoo Mi has reportedly been offered the role of Jang Gyu Eun, a police officer who carries trauma from a tragic accident in her childhood. Despite her past, she becomes determined to pursue justice and plays an important role in the investigation.
Kim Nam Gil is considering the role of Kim Tae-i, a detective in the first violent crimes unit at a police station. While investigating a serial criminal, he becomes involved in a case linked to AI technology that can design dreams. As the investigation continues, he finds himself facing a larger conspiracy connected to the technology.
