(G)I-DLE’s Minnie and Shuhua are both taking a break from team activities due to health reasons.
More recently, the youngest member of the group, Shuhua, suspended activities amidst a type A influenza diagnosis.
Cube Entertainment made an announcement on December 14 saying that Minnie had been experiencing poor health and had visited the hospital.
Based on medical advice, she will be taking a break from all scheduled activities to rest. Unfortunately, she won’t be able to participate in the unit/group stage of KBS 2TV’s 2023 Music Bank Global Festival on December 15.
Miyeon and Yuqi will still be appearing on the unit stage. Minnie’s return to activities will depend on her recovery.
Cube Entertainment kindly asks for fans’ understanding and support as they prioritize Minnie’s health. They apologize for any worry caused by this sudden news and assure everyone that they will do their best to assist Minnie in focusing on her recovery.
Additionally, during the Jingle Ball 2023 in Philadelphia performance on December 12, Minnie unfortunately had to leave the stage due to sudden health issues, which understandably raised concerns among fans.
On December 15, the agency shared an update about Shuhua. They mentioned that she visited the emergency room in the early morning due to having a mild fever and cold symptoms. After being diagnosed with type A influenza, the medical staff advised her to suspend all schedules and focus on resting and recovering.
Cube Entertainment also mentioned that, due to the contagious nature of type A influenza, they made the decision to cancel the pre-recording of (G)I-DLE’s group stage at the 2023 Music Bank Global Festival. This was done to ensure the safety of the artists and fans.
They sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and assure everyone that they will continue to closely monitor and manage the members’ condition.
On another note, (G)I-DLE recently concluded their iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour in the US, with their final stop in Philadelphia on December 12.
