This news from YG Entertainment about the upcoming debut of multiple new K-pop groups in 2024, along with the announcement of TREASURE working on new music, might help alleviate concerns raised by critics.

Some critics had expressed doubts about YG Entertainment’s future after the news that the four members of BLACKPINK did not renew their individual contracts.

According to a news release from YG Entertainment on January 22, they revealed exciting plans for 2024. They stated that they aim to start auditions in Korea and abroad to find and train new talents, with the goal of announcing “more than one” rookie group within the year.

After wrapping up their second Japanese tour, REBOOT, in March, TREASURE will begin working on new music. YG Entertainment’s newest girl group, BABYMONSTER, will release a digital single called Stuck In The Middle on February 2, followed by their first EP on April 1. As for BLACKPINK, the agency did not provide any specific plans at this time.

On another note, Yang Hyun-suk will continue to lead the agency and its artists. In fact, Yang recently made a significant investment by purchasing 10 billion won ($7.48 million) worth of the agency’s stock.
