LE SSERAFIM, a popular 4th-gen K-pop girl group, has once again proven their popularity in Japan.
On March 8, The Recording Industry Association of Japan announced that LE SSERAFIM’s 3rd mini album EASY has achieved Gold certification. This means that the album has surpassed 100,000 copies in cumulative shipments as of last month.
SOURCE MUSIC, their agency, mentioned that it’s not common for K-pop artists to achieve over 100,000 copies shipped for two consecutive releases that are not Japanese albums.
Their latest album EASY swept both the weekly album and weekly total album categories in Oricon’s latest ranking. Not only did EASY set a new record for the group’s highest sales volume, but it also earned the most points, surpassing their previous release’s performance on both charts.
In addition, their 3rd mini album ranked 8th on the US Billboard’s main album chart Billboard 200 and the title song of the same name also entered the main single chart Hot 100 at number 99.
This makes LE SSERAFIM the fourth K-pop girl group in history to achieve this feat, following in the footsteps of BLACKPINK, TWICE, and NewJeans.
