Han Ye Seul, a Korean actress, recently shared her experience of racial discrimination during her honeymoon in Italy. Despite being a celebrated figure in the K-drama industry, she was subjected to racist treatment at a hotel in the country.
On May 27, the 42-year-old actress posted on her personal social media about her negative experience at a hotel in Portofino, Italy, where she felt she encountered racial discrimination.
She shared photos of the hotel, with the caption, “I have experienced such discrimination from this place and truly feel offended.”
Ye Seul went on to say, “As a guest of Belmond Splendido Mare Portofino, my seat was reserved at Terrazza Dior.” However, hotel staff put her in a different seat that was not for the guests of Splendido Mare without giving any explanation or apologizing.

She described her experience at an Italian hotel, where she was told the restaurant was full despite available seats, and the terrace was initially declared closed despite being open.
She had confirmed her reservation, but the hotel’s reservation policy was falsely stated, claiming they started taking reservations a day in advance when in fact they had made an exception for her the day before. It wasn’t until she complained that the terrace became available.
Previously, renowned Korean actress, Yoona also faced racial discrimination at Cannes 2024, when a security guard blocked her for posing for the reporters.
Previously, she took to YouTube to share some exciting personal news: she’s officially married! After a three-year romance with her beau, who is 10 years her junior, the couple made their love official by registering their marriage.
