aespa has finally broken their silence on the controversial comment made by Bang Si Hyuk, the founder of HYBE, regarding the group.
The message, which was leaked by ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, sparked a heated debate among K-pop fans. HYBE chairman asked CEO Min to step on aespa and she even claimed that he asked her to inflate NewJeans album sales to break aespa’s debut record.
aespa held a showcase for their highly anticipated first full-length album, Armageddon, at the Blue Square in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on May 27.
The group directly addressed the viral message of Bang Si Hyuk at the press conference rather positively.
The group leader, Karina, shared, “We’re aware [of the content of Bang Si Hyuk’s message] but we received the public’s love because we devoted ourselves to our activities and worked hard.”
Furthermore, she said, “We gave our all in practicing since it is our first full-length album. Thanks to the support and love of our fans, we worked hard to prepare, and I am thankful that we got off to a satisfying start thanks to the love we received.”
Lastly, she expressed her gratitude to members, company, and fans for loving Supernova.
On another note, Armageddon is releasing today and has already recorded 1.02 million copies in pre-orders.
