On May 28, the 21-year-old singer appeared on Lee Mujin Service, impressing everyone with her incredible vocals.

She sang Thirsty by aespa, Be Natural by S.E.S, Tori Kelly’s Paper Hearts, and Breath by S.M. The Ballad Taeyeon & Jonghyun.

Besides swooning listeners with her singing talents, she shared her journey of how she was scouted by SM Entertainment.

Ningning left the SM staff on read because she thought it might be a scam. Once she replied, they immediately asked her when she wanted to fly to Korea and even booked her tickets right then. Upon arriving in Korea, she signed the trainee contract with SM the very next day.

This is not the first time the aespa star has talked about getting scouted by SM Entertainment. Back in December 2020, shortly after the group’s debut, aespa girls talked about signing with the agency on SBS Power FM‘s Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time.

She revealed on the show that before joining SM Entertainment, she had already made a name for herself in China’s singing circuit, appearing on numerous TV programs.

Her talent caught the attention of SM scouts, who reached out to her after discovering her videos.

Lastly, Ningning had the longest training period among the aespa members, dedicating 5 years to training before making her debut with the group.
