A fire broke out at Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’, leaving aespa’s Winter in a concerning state. As a result, she has decided to sit out the remainder schedule for the day to focus on her recovery.
On May 16, a fire erupted at the Sangam CJ ENM Center in Mapo-gu, Seoul, where the ‘M Countdown’ filming studio is located. According to eyewitnesses, aespa was in the midst of a pre-recording session on stage when the incident occurred.
Fortunately, the fire was minor and quickly extinguished, according to an official. The official explained that sparks flew at the end of the set, but the fire was small and didn’t spread.
As a precaution, the audience was immediately evacuated, and the aespa members, including Winter, who had recently undergone pneumothorax surgery, were helped off the stage.
However, the smoke caused concerns, especially for Winter, who was reportedly feeling unwell due to her recent health issues.
Today, only three aespa members will perform on the ‘M Countdown’ stage, as Winter has decided to take a break due to health concerns.
SM Entertainment will assess her condition before scheduling future appearances.
Meanwhile, aespa released their title track Supernova on May 13, which has garnered significant attention.
Lastly, Their debut full-length album, Armageddon, will drop on May 27 at 6 PM, featuring 10 diverse tracks.
