Earlier this morning, a Korean media outlet reported that aespa’s Winter underwent Pneumothorax surgery on April 11.
Shortly after the news went viral, SM Entertainment confirmed to Sports Seoul that she recently underwent Pneumothorax surgery and is now recovering.
It was reported that Winter had surgery for Pneumothorax after completing the schedule in Japan.
SM Entertainment explained saying, “As this is a disease that is prone to recurrence, it was decided after sufficient discussion as a preemptive measure based on the opinions of the medical staff.”
Since aespa is making a comeback in May and going on a world tour in June, the agency shared regarding her comeback activities, “The future schedule will be conducted with Winter’s recovery status as the top priority.”
In other news, aespa’s Winter recently collaborated with Bang Yedam for his comeback single, Officially Cool.
