The first day of the 2025 MAMA Awards wrapped up, and ENHYPEN and BLACKPINK’s Rosé stood out as the biggest winners of the night. The ceremony took place at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium, but the usual red carpet glamour was canceled out of respect for the victims of a recent fire tragedy in the city.
This year’s show carries a more solemn tone than usual. Just before the event, Hong Kong experienced a tragic residential fire in the Tai Po district, which led the organizers to cancel the red carpet.
Even so, the main ceremony is continuing as planned, and the organizers have shifted the mood to focus on comfort, healing, and support. Artists and presenters wore black ribbons to honor those affected.
In terms of 2025 MAMA Awards winners, Rosé and Bruno Mars took home the Song of the Year Daesang for their hit “APT.” ENHYPEN had a strong night as well, and won the Fans’ Choice of the Year Daesang along with the Telasa Favorite Global Artist award. Last year, they lost the Daesang to Jimin.
IVE also earned recognition as Favorite Global Performer and Favorite Female Group. BOYNEXTDOOR picked up Favorite Male Group. CORTIS and Hearts2Hearts were named Best New Artists. Other standout wins included IVE’s “Rebel Heart” as the Global Trend Song and Super Junior receiving the Inspiring Achievement award.
Even with the scaled-back atmosphere, the performances remained a major highlight. Fans were treated to memorable performances from ENHYPEN, IVE, (G)I-DLE, Super Junior, TREASURE, and BABYMONSTER. One of the most memorable moments was a collaborative performance between NCT WISH and Hearts2Hearts and TWS and MEOVV.
Day 2 of the 2025 MAMA Awards is set for November 29. Fans can watch the ceremony through the official streams on Mnet Plus, Mnet’s YouTube channels like Mnet K-POP and M2, as well as tvN Asia and TVING.
The 2025 ceremony is the 27th edition of the MAMA Awards, often referred to as the “Grammys of Asia.” As always, the competition this year is intense.
Today, Yeonjun, BABYMONSTER, ENHYPEN, MEOVV, IVE, i-dle, TWS, Hearts2Hearts, ALPHA DRIVE ONE, TREASURE, and more will perform.
