BABYMONSTER made a new record in the first week of releasing their debut album, BABYMONS7ER.
On April 8, as reported by the Hanteo Chart, BABYMONSTER’s debut mini album sold a remarkable 401,287 copies from April 1-7. This marks the highest first-week sales for a debut album by a K-pop girl group.
They broke the record set by ILLIT with their debut mini-album, SUPER REAL ME, which sold over 380,000 copies in the first week. Previously, the group shared their thoughts on competing with the rival group ILLIT.
With BABYMONSTER just starting their full-fledged promotions, fans can expect a rise in final sales. Additionally, there is potential for an increase in overseas export sales to contribute to this growth.
The group not only leads in album sales but also shines on various global music charts. Their debut mini album soared to the top of the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart, while their title track SHEESH secured the 69th spot on Spotify’s Daily Top Song Global Chart, marking the highest entry for a K-pop girl group this year.
Upon the release of their music video, it quickly made it to the ‘most viewed video in 24 hours’ list and claimed the top spot on YouTube’s global weekly charts. The video’s views are rapidly increasing, surpassing 76.95 million views and steadily progressing towards the 100 million view milestone.
Lastly, BABYMONSTER will broaden its reach into the international market by hosting fan meetings in five Asian regions, including Tokyo, Japan, Jakarta, Indonesia, Singapore, Taipei, and Bangkok, Thailand. They will also participate in Japan’s biggest music festival, Summer Sonic 2024.
