BABYMONSTER’s Rami will not be joining her groupmates in promoting their highly anticipated second mini album, We Go Up, which drops on October 10. The news confirms that her health-related hiatus, which began in May, will continue into the group’s latest comeback.

Rami Went on Hiatus in May

YG Entertainment first announced Rami’s temporary break on May 9, revealing that she would not take part in the group’s Asia tour, which kicked off in Singapore on May 17 and ran through June. At the time, the agency explained that medical professionals had strongly recommended complete rest due to her ongoing health concerns. Despite receiving steady treatment since her debut, her condition showed little improvement.

Since then, the 17-year-old singer has remained absent from all official schedules, including BABYMONSTER’s global tour. Fans had hoped she might return in time for the group’s second mini album, but the confirmed lineup for promotions—Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rora, and Chiquita—makes clear that her hiatus is ongoing.

‘We Go Up’ Promotions Without Rami

Although YG Entertainment has not released a new statement specifically tied to the comeback, the company previously stressed that Rami’s health is the top priority. “As this decision was made with the artist’s health as the top priority, we ask for your understanding. “We will continue to do our utmost to support Rami and BABYMONSTER going forward,” the agency said earlier this year.

Promotions for We Go Up will therefore proceed with six members, marking the first time BABYMONSTER has promoted an album without their full lineup since debuting in April 2024.

Fans are increasingly worried about her long break, with some fearing she might step away from the group like izna’s Jiyoon if her health problems persist.

‘We Go Up’ First Teaser Raises Excitement

Even with Rami absent, anticipation for the comeback is running high. On September 12, YG Entertainment shared the first teaser image for We Go Up through their official channels. The striking poster features a black-and-white city background with a noise effect, contrasted by bold neon green lettering. The angle suggests a view from above, visually tying into the album’s theme of “soaring higher.”

The title track, We Go Up, is described as a hip-hop song that captures BABYMONSTER’s fiery energy. A conceptual music video has also been announced, expected to reflect the same intensity. Alongside the title track, the album will feature several diverse songs personally introduced by executive producer Yang Hyun Suk:

  • “PSYCHO” – a powerful track with a strong impact,
  • “SUPA DUPA LUV” – a slower track blending emotional tones with hip-hop elements,
  • “WILD” – a country-inspired dance song.

Pre-orders opened the same day, offering fans a wide range of collectible options. The album will be available in three photobook versions (WE, GO, UP) and six individual digipack versions (PATTERN) for each member. Packages include 72- and 56-page photobooks, posters, selfie photo cards, and more, fueling demand among global fans.
