BIGBANG is returning to the stage as a full group!
The legendary K-pop group, which now consists of G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung, may reunite once again for a performance at MAMA Awards 2024.
On October 5, News 1 exclusively reported that BIGBANG members are discussing a potential reunion stage at the 2024 MAMA Award, scheduled for November.
It was previously reported that G-Dragon, who is making a comeback after 7 years, would perform at the prestigious award ceremony. However, fans got a double treat as they might have seen the whole group perform last month.
It has been nine years since the K-pop icons last performed together at the MAMA Awards in 2015. Although they won Best Vocal Performance Group for “Still Life” in 2022, they were not included in the performers’ lineup.
Fans got a glimpse of what’s to come when G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung surprised audiences with an impromptu performance at Taeyang’s solo concert “TAEYANG 2024 TOUR [THE LIGHT YEAR]” in September. This was the first time in 7 years the group members performed together on stage.
BIGBANG, a legendary K-pop group since 2006, has undergone multiple lineup changes. After Seungri’s 2019 exit and T.O.P’s 2023 departure, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung continue as a trio. The members are now focused on solo projects, with G-Dragon set to release a solo album, Taeyang touring Asia, and Daesung appearing on MBN’s “Korea-Japan Top Ten Show” and YouTube.
Expectations are soaring for BIGBANG’s upcoming MAMA Awards performance, Korea’s premier K-pop award ceremony.
The 2024 MAMA Awards will take place across two locations: Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater (November 21st) and Osaka’s Kyocera Dome (November 22nd-23rd).
