BLACKPINK Comeback Reportedly Pushed to July + Agency’s Response

BLACKPINK is rumored to make a comeback in July. Despite YG founder Yang Hyun Suk confirming a June comeback last month, their return is pushed to July to improve the quality of their comeback. With June already half over and no comeback announcement, fans were starting to suspect a delay.

It is worth noting that YG Entertainment has not confirmed the postponement yet. There is a possibility that the group may release the new song by late June. In response to the recent reports of BLACKPINK’s July comeback, YG vaguely responded, saying, “Please check through official promotions later.”

This is their first full-group release in nearly three years and their first musical endeavor since renewing their group contract with YG Entertainment in December 2023. The timing couldn’t be more perfect, as the quartet simultaneously gears up for their massive ‘Deadline’ world tour kicking off in Goyang, South Korea on July 5-6.

According to music industry insiders, BLACKPINK’s new single will drop in early July, just as they embark on their global stadium tour. Details about the song remain tightly under wraps. Fans speculate the new track might make its live debut during the Goyang concerts.

BLACKPINK’s nearly two-year hiatus from group activities allowed each member to flourish individually. Rosé collaborated with Bruno Mars on the global hit “APT.” and released her successful solo album “rosie” in December 2024. The pre-release song “APT.” has become the longest-charting K-pop song on Billboard HOT 100 (34 weeks).

Lisa established LLOUD, and released her solo album “Alter Ego” on February 28, 2025. She made her acting debut in “The White Lotus 3” and performed at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the Oscars 2025, and Coachella.

Jennie established her own label, ODD ATELIER, and dropped her album “Ruby” on March 7, 2025. Besides releasing her critically acclaimed album, she performed at Coachella 2025 as a soloist.

Jisoo balanced music with acting, starring in the series “Newtopia” and preparing for the film “Omniscient Reader: The Prophet”. She also released her first mini-album “AMORTAGE” in February and is currently filming the Netflix series “Boyfriend on Demand.”

Despite pursuing individual paths, all members are committed to continuing as BLACKPINK.

Lisa told Elle Magazine: “Of course we’re continuing, for sure. We’re so proud of BLACKPINK, and I love BLACKPINK”. She also shared her excitement about going on tour again and how much they miss BLINKs in an interview with Variety.

Jennie told Billboard she’s excited to see “the most powerful versions of ourselves that anyone has seen.”

On the other hand, the ‘Deadline‘ world tour represents BLACKPINK’s most massive tour yet. It is their first all-stadium tour spanning 31 shows across Asia, North America, and Europe. Following the South Korean dates, the group will perform in major cities including Los Angeles (July 12-13), Chicago (July 18), Toronto (July 22-23), New York (July 26-27), Paris (August 2-3), London (August 15-16), and more.
