Jennie from BLACKPINK recently launched the Jentle Salon collection in collaboration with the Korean eyewear brand, Gentle Monster.
The brand revealed plans to host pop-up stores in various countries, with the 28-year-old singer making an appearance at the Tokyo pop-up event last month.
Fans were applauding Jennie for her creativity and for incorporating Capybaras, hearts, and clouds into her collection, all of which are things she openly adores.
Recently, eagle-eyed netizens have noticed striking similarities between the designs of Jentle Salon and YVMIN, a well-known jewelry brand from Hong Kong. Many are claiming that Jentle Salon has borrowed heavily from YVMIN’s creative work, particularly the brand’s 2020-2022 collections.
While Jennie’s collection uses a capybara hugging a heart, YVMIN’s 2020-2022 collection featured a teddy bear hugging a heart. In addition, the 3 heart charm was used by YVMIN for earrings while Jentle Salon used it for eyewear.
Amidst all the plagiarism accusations, fans are defending Jennie saying that teddy bears hugging a heart and 3 heart charm designs are common among jewelry brands.
Notably, YVMIN, the Hong Kong-based jewelry brand, has not officially addressed the similarities between their designs and Jentle Salon’s products, nor have they publicly accused Jennie or her team of plagiarism.
On the work front, Jennie is gearing up to release her debut solo album in the coming months.
