It’s tough news for BLINKs, but it’s expected that BLACKPINK won’t drop an album or go on a world tour together this year.
With BLACKPINK’s 8th debut anniversary on August 8 approaching, word on the street is that the group is preparing a special celebration to mark this significant milestone.
An insider shared that the members are eager to celebrate this special milestone with a fan event, although the specific format is still being under discussion.
Previously, it was reported that BLACKPINK may hold a fanmeeting to celebrate their 8th debut anniversary.
As reported by news sources, the group will not have full-length activities this year. In the latter half of 2025, members Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé will meet fans one after the other with new music. On the other hand, Jisoo will focus on the filming of dramas and movies.
Following Rosé, who signed with THE BLACK LABEL under Teddy’s direction, all four BLACKPINK members have announced how they will pursue solo endeavors.
Jennie founded ODD ATELIER with her mother at the helm, Jisoo is active under BLISSOO, a subsidiary of her brother’s company Biomam, and Lisa has established her independent label LLOUD, operating as a solo artist.
In the upcoming months, the four BLACKPINK members will concentrate on solo projects. Lisa will kick off her solo journey by dropping her new single ROCKSTAR worldwide on music platforms at 9 am on June 28.
Jennie is working on her debut full-length album, Rosé has hinted at music release soon, and Jisoo has wrapped filming the movie Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, and currently shooting for the drama Influenza.
With their packed schedule for the rest of the year, it is not possible that they will reunite for group activities.
