As expected, BLACKPINK proved they are still on top. After nearly two years apart focusing on solo activities, Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa reunited as a group and brought together 78,000 fans for two unforgettable nights in Goyang.
The quartet opened their Deadline world tour on July 5 at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium. This new tour comes about one year and ten months after their record-breaking Born Pink tour, which drew 1.8 million fans worldwide.
BLACKPINK kicked off the show wearing striking black and pink outfits, instantly igniting the crowd with hits like Kill This Love and Pink Venom. Jisoo greeted the audience with, “It’s the second day, so you can have even more fun, right?”
Back-to-back performances of How You Like That, Playing With Fire, and Shut Down kept 39,000 fans on the edge of their seats. Each member then owned the stage with powerful solo sets. Jisoo performed Earthquake and Your Love from the newly released album, AMORTAGE. On the other hand, Lisa stunned with New Woman and Rockstar, flaunting her unmatched dance skills.
Jennie delivered her ‘global hot girl’ energy with Mantra, With the IE (Way Up), and like JENNIE. Rosé wowed fans with 3am, Toxic Till the End, and APT. She even pulled a female fan onstage to dance and sing along on the opening night.
The group kept the excitement high with fan favorites like Pretty Savage, Don’t Know What To Do, Whistle, STAY, and Lovesick Girls. But the highlight of the night was their new song JUMP—their first fresh release in almost three years. “It’s the perfect song to jump and have fun to. Please jump along with us!” Jisoo urged fans.
To close the night, BLACKPINK turned the stadium into a massive sing-along with early hits Boombayah, DDU-DU DDU-DU, As If It’s Your Last, and Forever Young.
Many Korean celebrities attended the two-day concert, including Hyeri, Nayeon Jihyo, Minnie, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, Jeonghan, j-hope, BABYMONSTER, Treasure, and more.
To wrap up, Lisa shared, “I’ve been so nervous since yesterday, but seeing everyone having so much fun with us makes me really happy. I’m glad we could kick off our world tour here in Korea.”
Jennie added, “Thank you to everyone who came to the start of our stadium tour. It’s a bit sad because we’re heading out on the world tour after tonight, but I hope the day comes soon when we can meet our BLINKs again.”
BLACKPINK’s Deadline tour is just getting started. From Goyang, they will visit 16 cities with 31 shows lined up, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
BLACKPINK is back — and the world can’t take its eyes off them.
