YG Entertainment, in collaboration with TakeOne Company, is bringing fans an officially licensed mobile game titled BLACKPINK The Game. The game places players in the role of producer and manager, overseeing everything from scheduling to music production.
TakeOne Company, the developer behind the hit game BTS World, leads the project. The game, which features Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé, allows players to take on the role of both producer and manager, guiding the group’s journey to stardom. After much anticipation, it has been confirmed that the game will officially launch on August 23, 2025.
Originally scheduled for early July, the release was pushed back due to development adjustments. YG Entertainment issued an apology for the delay and reassured fans that the wait would result in a more polished experience. The new date gives BLINKs a short countdown before they can finally access the long-awaited title.
Game Concept and Features
The core concept places players in charge of BLACKPINK’s career. They take on tasks such as solving puzzle quests to clear schedules, managing the group’s agency, and customizing members with outfits and avatars.
Players also interact with BLACKPINK World, a social component of the game where they can play real-time mini-games with other users and express their style through avatars.
BLACKPINK THE GAME features over 1,000 outfit choices and dolls’ photocard themes, in-game attendance rewards, bingo-style events, and more. Tasks include organizing tours, managing appearances, and ensuring the group’s brand stays strong. BLINKs will help the members improve their singing and dancing skills through various activities.
Additional Elements
In addition to management and training, the game offers opportunities for more casual interactions with the members. Players can explore locations, participate in activities, and engage in conversations with Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé.
In conjunction with the game, BLACKPINK released an original track titled The Girls. The song, which blends EDM and trap elements, was produced by Ryan Tedder and BLACKPINK members. It will serve as the game’s soundtrack. It premiered in the game on August 23, 2023, followed by a full digital release two days later.
