June is going to be an exciting month for K-pop fans as BTS will complete military service while BLACKPINK is expected to make a comeback.
BLACKPINK has been on hiatus since September 2023 as members have been focusing on solo releases and activities. Now that all members have released solo music and projects, BLINKs anxiously await updates on their reunion.
Earlier this year, it was reported that BLACKPINK will make a comeback in May. Now, a new exclusive report from TenAsia today (April 11) suggests that BLACKPINK is preparing for a June comeback.
The four members are presently coordinating their schedules to work on their upcoming album, which includes planning, recording, and filming activities.
Multiple music industry insiders have stated, “BLACKPINK members have begun adjusting their schedules for recording and filming in preparation for their new album. The album is expected to be released by June at the latest.”
The 4-member K-pop group will begin their massive tour in July, therefore, it is expected that they will release new music prior to hitting the road. A new BLACKPINK album in June would be their first since “BORN PINK” dropped in September 2022, nearly two years ago.
Following the release of “BORN PINK”, BLACKPINK embarked on a year-long tour from October 2022 to September 2023. The tour generated $78 million (approximately 110 billion won) in revenue within just two months of its launch, setting a record for the highest-grossing concert tour by a girl group worldwide. Ultimately, the tour raked in $330 million from 66 shows (480 billion won), ranking as the 6th highest-grossing tour by a female artist globally.
After the tour ended, BLACKPINK members parted ways with their longtime agency YG Entertainment, and only chose to pursue group activities with the label. As a result, three out of four members established their own agencies. Jennie partnered with her mother to launch a label ODD ATELIER, Jisoo teamed up with her older brother to set up BLISSOO, and Lisa collaborated with a professional manager to start her own label, LLOUD.
Rosé signed with THEBLACKLABEL, working closely with longtime collaborator Teddy, the label’s representative producer. Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé also partnered with international record labels Columbia Records, Warner Records, RCA Records, and Atlantic Records respectively.
Rosé was the first one to release the studio album “rosie” on December 6, 2024, with the smash hit “APT.” featuring Bruno Mars. Jisoo and Lisa released solo albums “AMORTAGE” and “ALTER EGO” in February followed by Jennie’s 15-track album “Ruby” on March 7.
BLACKPINK is set to embark on their 2025 World Tour, kicking off on July 5-6 at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Seoul, South Korea. The tickets for Seoul shows will be open to the public next month. They will hold concerts at biggest stadiums in the UK, Asia, Europe, and North America.
