After Rosé and Lisa, Jennie has recently made her solo entry onto the Billboard 200 chart.
Fresh from the success of her debut solo studio album ‘Ruby‘, released on March 10, the BLACKPINK member has another reason to celebrate.
According to the latest chart released on March 16 (local time), Jennie made a solo debut on the Billboard 200 chart with 56K units sold, with her album ‘Ruby’ settling at number 7.
On the Billboard 200 chart, ‘Ruby’ earned its spot through a combination of physical and digital album sales, plus streaming and download equivalents.
‘Ruby’ achieved 56,000 album units in its latest tracking period. This breaks down into 26,500 physical and digital album sales plus 29,000 streaming equivalent albums and 500 track equivalent albums.
With this, she has become the third member of the BLACKPINK to achieve a Top 10 spot on the Billboard 200 chart as a soloist. Rosé scored the highest-charting entry among BLACKPINK members in December last year as her album “rosie” debuted at No. 3.
Lisa, who released the full-length album “ALTER EGO” on February 28, also entered the chart at No.7.
On the other hand, BLACKPINK made history in 2022 as the first K-pop girl group to reach number one on the Billboard 200 chart with their second full-length album, ‘BORN PINK’. Their debut full-length album, ‘The Album’, also achieved a second-place ranking.
Jennie’s solo album ‘Ruby’ is inspired by Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ and explores themes of self-discovery, love, and empowerment. The album features a strong tracklist, including ‘Like JENNIE’, ‘Mantra’, ‘Love Hangover’, and ‘ExtraL’.
She also completed her solo mini-concert series “The Ruby Experience” with shows in the US and Korea. “The Ruby Experience” concluded with a grand finale at the INSPIRE Arena in Incheon.
Meanwhile, Jennie is currently promoting the studio album “Ruby”. She is set to resume BLACKPINK activities soon.
