Just four tracks are not enough for BLINKs who have been waiting nearly two years for Jisoo’s solo comeback album.
While the tracklist for “AMORTAGE” will be released on February 4 at midnight, it has been revealed that the album will contain a total of 4 songs with a runtime of 12 minutes and 14 seconds.
Fans were disappointed to learn that the BLACKPINK vocalist is only releasing four tracks after a gap of 2 years. While other BLACKPINK members are releasing debut studio albums containing either 12 or 15 tracks, it is only natural for fans to want more solo songs from Jisoo.
She made her solo debut with the single album “ME” in March 2023, which contained only two songs “Flower” and “All Eyes On Me”. Fans opine that the album should have at least 6 songs given that she is making her solo comeback after a long time.
On the bright side Jisoo’s album “AMORTAGE” may be relatively short, with only four tracks but don’t worry as she is already cooking up her next release. While working on “AMORTAGE”, the 30-year-old K-pop star was also busy prepping songs for her next album, which she says will have even more music.
For the upcoming mini-album, she handpicked songs that fit the album’s vibe. Jisoo wants fans to listen to the album from start to finish, promising it will paint a picture in their minds.
While other members focused largely on making new music, Jisoo was working on three acting projects (2 dramas and a movie) while preparing for a comeback. Her zomcom movie “Newtopia” will premiere on Coupang Play on February 7.
In addition, Jisoo’s debut movie “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” will be released in the summer of 2025 and the drama “Boyfriend on Demand” is expected to premiere this year.
While her schedule was packed last year, she could not dedicatedly work on solo music. However, the K-pop idol has repeatedly promised to release more music via Bubble and other fan communication platforms.
So, fans have to trust Jisoo as she will keep her promise and release more music soon.
Meanwhile, Jisoo will release “AMORTAGE” on various music platforms in partnership with Warner Records on February 14. Lisa will be the next one to drop her full album “ALTER EGO” on February 28 followed by Jennie on March 7. After wrapping solo activities, BLACKPINK will resume activities in May with a hugely-awaited comeback.
