BLACKPINK’s Lisa recently unveiled her personal lightstick, but the highly-anticipated reveal hasn’t quite gone as planned.
A few days ahead of the release of her album “ALTER EGO”, the “ROCKSTAR” rapper revealed her official lightstick.
Fans expressed that there was no need for a lightstick since BLACKPINK was preparing for their tour and the members’ solo activities were winding down. They criticized her for stepping outside the norm, stating that as a member of BLACKPINK, she should have stuck with the group’s lightstick.
Fans commented, “Lisa is trying to distance herself from the Kpop label and industry”, “There was no need”, “This is the last comeback and tour BLACKPINK will get”, and “I don’t know what’s stopping them to disband? She clearly wants to sail alone”.
Getting hate from BLINKs and solo stans of other members is not new for Lisa. She previously received criticism for addressing her fans as Lilies instead of BLINKs last year.
In addition, fans of Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo often criticize her for not promoting and supporting the activities of other members.
Some fans believe that BLACKPINK’s upcoming tour and comeback could be their last, as the members are increasingly focusing on their solo projects.
Meanwhile, Lisa is currently focusing on her activities in the US and upcoming album releases. After four pre-release tracks, she will drop her album “ALTER EGO” on February 28. The album features collabs with Tyla, Future, and Megan Thee Stallion. She will also release a comic, sharing the stories of personas from her album.
Besides that, Lisa is set to make history as the first-ever K-pop artist to perform at the Oscars next month. Fans can also look forward to her performance at 2025 Coachella and upcoming BLACKPINK’s world tour.
