While BTS is confirmed to resume activities in mid-2025, their activities in 2016 remain uncertain.
During HYBE’s 3rd quarter earnings conference call on November 5, the company shared updates on BTS’s upcoming activities and their contribution to revenue.
HYBE’s CFO Lee Kyung Joon dished on BTS activities in 2026 at the press conference, stating, “You also asked what proportion of our sales would be if BTS were to return as a full group. We are still discussing with the members what our activities will be in 2026, so no projections have been made yet.”
CFO Lee added, “Of course, if they were to return as a full group, we would make a significant amount of money, but at the same time, we would be seeing growth in new businesses for our other artists, so we do not expect our proportion of sales to be as high as it has been in the past.”
BTS members, except for Jin and J-Hope who have completed their military service, are currently serving in the military. Fans eagerly await their full-group comeback in 2025, following the remaining members’ discharge.
Notably, during Jin and J-Hope’s military service last September, BTS members renewed their contracts for the second time. The renewal was approved by the board of directors, with RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook signing exclusive contracts.
This is their second contract renewal with HYBE, following the first in early 2018.
Following the leak of the ‘Music Industry Report,’ HYBE is receiving a lot of backlash for not intentionally restocking V’s “Layover” album which impacted first-week sales figures. Moreover, it was revealed that HYBE allowed hate campaigns against Jungkook on DC Gallery, a domestic internet forum.
After the disturbing revelations, many fans want BTS to break free from HYBE.
