Shin, who has been instrumental in shaping the company’s success, joined Big Hit Entertainment  (now HYBE) in 2010 and was a key figure in the formation and early success of BTS.

She also led efforts to upgrade HYBE’s trainee selection and rookie development systems, while heading the company’s T&D division and serving as GM of BIGHIT MUSIC. Notable groups such as BTS, TXT, and LE SSERAFIM all got their start through HYBE’s T&D program.

Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Shin was honored with a spot on Billboard’s 2022 40 Under 40 list and previously featured on the Women in Music list. As CEO, she will spearhead efforts to enhance the label’s management system and drive business expansion into new areas.

The ex-CEO Shin Young Jae, who helmed BIGHIT MUSIC for four years, will now focus on his new role as CEO of Hybe Music Group APAC. He will oversee the company’s multi-label business in Asia-Pacific, including Korea and Japan.

In the last few months, two other labels under HYBE went through leadership changes including PLEDIS Entertainment and ADOR. CEO Kim Seon Yoo was appointed CEO of SEVENTEEN’s label (PLEDIS) whereas Kim Joo Young took over ADOR (NewJeans’ label).

BIGHIT MUSIC is currently home to two of K-pop’s biggest acts: BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT).
