In the exciting world of K-Pop, some stars are making waves not just with their music but also with smart investments in real estate. J-Hope from BTS, G-Dragon from BIGBANG, BLACKPINK’s Lisa, and IU are great examples of artists who have built their wealth through valuable properties, earning the title of ‘Young & Rich’.

J-Hope from BTS

BTS rapper and dancer J-Hope made a luxury real estate purchase in 2020, buying two penthouses at Afer Hangang in Seoul for a combined total of 22 billion won. He initially purchased the first penthouse for 12 billion won on June 3, 2020, and then acquired the second penthouse on the lower floor for 10 billion won just 20 days later.

J-Hope fully paid off the balances for both properties in June and July 2024, gaining ownership of both households within a month.

In addition to his two penthouses at Afer Hangang, he also owns two units at Tremazes, a high-end apartment complex in Seongsu-dong, popular among celebrities.

With these latest additions, the Arson rapper now holds a total of four luxury properties in Seoul. Currently serving in the military, J-Hope is set to be discharged on October 17.

G-Dragon from BIGBANG

In 2022, G-Dragon, the renowned K-pop singer, acquired a luxurious apartment at Warner Cheongdam in Seoul’s affluent Cheongdam-dong neighborhood. The property’s purchase price ranged from 15 billion won to 18 billion won. Notably, G-Dragon funded the purchase without selling any of his existing properties.

Additionally, he purchased the Galleria Foret in Seongsu-dong, Seoul for 3 billion won in 2013, and the building in Cheongdam-gu, Gangnam, Seoul, which he purchased in 2017, is also said to be worth 17.3 billion won. In addition, he purchased the Nine One Hannam penthouse for 16.4 billion won in 2021.

IU

IU, the renowned K-pop soloist, made headlines in 2021 for purchasing the luxurious Eterno Cheongdam property for 13 billion won. She paid the full amount in cash without taking out a loan.

IU’s new penthouse at Eterno Cheongdam features 2,600 sq ft of luxury space. She previously sold her Bangbaedong villa in 2019 for 860 million won, earning a small profit from her 2012 purchase price of 840 million won.

Lisa from BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK’s Lisa is a true definition of ‘Young & Rich’. She has not only lavish properties in Korea but overseas as well.

In July 2022, the New Woman rapper purchased a mansion in a wealthy neighborhood in Seoul for 7.5 billion won. She paid the full amount in cash and gave a house tour earlier this year on her birthday.

In addition, she purchased a mansion in Beverly Hills, LA, worth $3.95 million. The mansion, constructed in 1924, has a square meter area of 4,957.

While many people envy the success of self-made celebrities who have accumulated billions or even hundreds of billions of won at a young age, it’s important to remember that their achievements did not come easily. They always have to put in the extra effort to persevere through fierce competition to reach the top.
