BTS’ Jimin and Lisa released new music on the same day, June 28.
The K-pop stars quickly rose up the charts and amassed significant streaming numbers shortly after their music’s release.
Besides all, Jimin’s Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) and Lisa’s ROCKSTAR, entered the prestigious Billboard Hot 100.
On July 8 (local time), the American music outlet released a new chart on its social media channels.
Jimin’s pre-release song Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) from his album MUSE debuted at number 88 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This marks Jimin’s fifth solo entry on the chart, following previous successes with VIBE (76th), Set Me Free Pt. 2 (30th), Like Crazy (1st), and Angel Pt. 1 (65th).
Notably, Jimin made history as the first K-pop solo artist to top the Hot 100 with Like Crazy, and the first K-pop artist to achieve a number-one spot both as a group member and as a soloist.
BLACKPINK’s Lisa also made her mark on the Billboard HOT 100, after sweeping other charts. Rockstar became her highest-charting single on the Billboard HOT 100, debuting at number 70.
Two songs from her single album LALISA (2021) charted on the prestigious chart, the title track LALISA secured 84 positions and Money debuted at 90.
In addition, she became the second K-pop female soloist after Jennie to have a song surpassing 1 billion streams. The performance video of Money hit 1 billion views on YouTube in May.
On the other hand, Jimin’s second album MUSE is set to drop on July 19 and Lisa has plans to release an album this year.
