BTS’ Jin is giving back to the community in a meaningful way. The K-pop idol recently visited a wildfire-ravaged area in South Korea, where he volunteered at a shelter and helped distribute food to those affected by the disaster.
BTS members have made massive donations to support relief efforts in affected areas. While RM, Suga, and j-hope donated 100 million won each, BTS V and Jungkook donated 200 million won and 1 billion KRW respectively. In addition, their agency HYBE has also donated 1 billion won to support wildfire victims.
Jin volunteered at a wildfire relief site in Gilan Myeon. According to his agency, “Running Wild” wanted to help those affected by the fires, even if it was just in a small way. He visited the Gilan Middle School wildfire victims’ shelter and shared food and kind words with the residents.
During his visit, Jin kept a low profile by dressing casually, and donning a black hat and a mask.
A state of emergency has been declared in South Korea as the country battles one of its worst natural disasters in recent history. The 2025 fires, which broke out in Ulsan and Gyeongsang provinces, have destroyed homes, livelihoods, and infrastructure.
The widespread wildfires, which began on March 21, have burned tens of thousands of hectares of land, forcing over 37,000 people to evacuate their homes and causing significant property damage, estimated to be around 2 trillion won ($1.35 billion).
Meanwhile, Jin was discharged from the military in June 2024 and began entertainment activities right away. Following the release of his debut EP “Happy” in November, Jin will be next seen in the Netflix variety show “Kian’s Bizarre B&B”, the first three episodes to premiere on April 8.
Last but not least, BTS activities are about to resume soon as the remaining members will be discharged in June. They have exciting plans for ARMYs waiting for full-group activities for years. As per reports, they will make a hugely-awaited comeback and go on a massive world tour to meet fans.
