BTS’ V Donates 200 Million Won to Support Wildfire Relief Efforts

BTS member V has donated 200 million won to the Korean Red Cross. On March 31, the organization announced that his donation would be split equally between two causes:

  • 100 million won will fund emergency relief and recovery support for victims in areas affected by the wildfires, including Sancheong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, Uiseong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Ulju-gun, Ulsan.
  • The remaining 100 million won will support the recovery and improved treatment of firefighters who risked their lives to extinguish the fires and rescue those in need.

Regarding his donation, V shared, “I would like to express my deep respect to those who have been affected by the sudden disaster, as well as to the firefighters, emergency responders, and volunteers who are working tirelessly on the front lines. During my evening roll call while serving in the military, I felt very upset watching the news, and I thought that some of my comrades might have family members who have also been affected.

Fortunately, the wildfire has been mostly contained, but I hope there will be no more loss of life, and I wish for my donation to be a small help.”

The Korean National Red Cross has been actively responding to the wildfires nationwide since March 21. As of March 30, their emergency relief efforts have included:

  • Distributing 91,233 relief supplies
  • Providing meal support to 76,245 individuals
  • Offering disaster psychological counseling to 3,655 people
  • Delivering medical support to 62 firefighters and evacuees

BTS Jungkook Donated 1 Billion KRW to Support Relief Efforts

On March 28, BTS member Jungkook made a generous donation of 1 billion won to support wildfire relief efforts in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam. The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association announced that his donation will be split equally between two important causes.

  • Emergency Support and Relief Supplies: 500 million won will go towards providing essential aid and relief supplies to victims who lost their homes due to the wildfires.
  • Firefighter Support: The remaining 500 million won will be used to improve awareness and treatment for firefighters who are working tirelessly to combat wildfires and other disasters.

His donation is the largest individual contribution to the wildfire relief efforts so far. Jungkook shared, “I hope this small donation can be of some help to everyone who is going through a difficult and tiring time. I wish that those who are struggling due to the wildfires and all the people working hard on firefighting efforts can return to their peaceful daily lives as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, V, RM, Suga, Jimin, and Jungkook will complete their military service in June and resume solo and BTS activities right away.
