According to the latest Billboard Chart released on January 28, Jungkook’s solo hit “Seven (feat. Latto)” has now spent 80 weeks on Billboard’s “Global (excluding the US)” chart, landing at number 72 on the latest tally. That’s a new record for the longest-running song by a K-pop solo artist on the chart.

On top of its record-breaking run, “Seven” jumped 14 places to reach number 101 on the “Global 200” chart. Despite being released in July 2023, the song has not left major charts overseas.

Jungkook has made history as the K-pop solo artist with the longest chart run to date.

“Seven” achieved unprecedented success at the time of its release and even topped the Billboard HOT 100. The song spent 15 weeks on the prestigious chart, and his subsequent single “3D” with Jack Harlow entered the Top 5 on HOT 100.

In addition, the lead single “Standing Next To You” from his album “GOLDEN” also secured the No.5 spot on the Billboard chart.

Jungkook entered the chart again with a fan song “Never Let Go” in June 2024 to celebrate BTS’ 11th debut anniversary. It was his seventh song to enter the Billboard HOT 100, debuting at No. 97.

The 27-year-old single has consistently charted on Billboard HOT 100, Global 200, Global 200 Excl. US, Global Artist 100 charts in the past 1.5 years.

Despite being away for military service since December 2023, his songs are being streamed by ARMYs and his solo supporters. They demand more opportunities for him as a solo artist and a world tour.

On another note, While Jin and J-Hope have already completed their military service, the other BTS members are currently serving. The expected discharge dates for the remaining members are:

  • RM and V: June 10
  • Jimin and Jungkook: June 11
  • Suga: June 21 (after completing his alternative service as a social worker)

BTS will reunite later this year, make a comeback with a long-awaited album, and go on a world tour. Fans are looking forward to their group as well as solo activities after the discharge.
