BTS’ Jungkook made headlines with an impromptu Weverse Live broadcast, drawing in a massive audience and breaking viewership records.
The K-pop superstar’s spontaneous session sent fans into a frenzy. Fans erupted in joy as BTS’ Jungkook made a surprise return to the spotlight with a Weverse Live session, his first livestream since starting military service.
Before joining the military, Jungkook often interacted with fans through live streams, but since his enlistment on December 12, he has not been in touch with fans as he used to.
The 27-year-old surprised everyone with his latest livestream which attracted over 10 million real-time viewers within an hour. With this, he broke his own record for the fastest livestream by an individual to hit this milestone.
Jungkook’s most recent Weverse live stream drew in 20 million simultaneous viewers, breaking the platform’s record.
His unexpected live broadcast (20.2M) attracted more viewers than the last Grammy Awards (16.9M) and had nearly 5 times the real-time viewers compared to the last VMAs (4.08M).
During the livestream, he sang multiple songs including Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s “Die With a Smile”, ILLIT’s “Magnetic”, G-Dragon’s “WHO YOU” and “Nillaria”, OST “Love You With All My Heart”, and more. Jungkook also sang V and Park Hyo Shin’s latest release “Winter Ahead.”
The “Seven” singer also shared a glimpse of his new house with the fans. ARMYs all around the world were delightfully surprised to see him live and tuned in almost instantly.
Now, they have to wait just a few months as BTS members along with Jungkook will resume activities in June 2025.
