BTS leader RM went live on Weverse on December 6. His calm, late-night chat quickly turned into one of his most honest and emotional talks in a while. Even though he never mentioned any names, fans immediately connected some of his comments to the resurfacing dating rumors involving Jungkook and aespa’s Winter.
The live felt very raw and very real. At one point, RM talked about how much the team has been through and how deeply he has struggled as a leader over the years. He said:
We even thought a lot about whether we should pause the team again here or not, but we love our team, and it’s because of the love and hope from all of you watching right now! that we can decide to keep going.
He also shared that he can’t control or speak for the members the way he used to in the early years of BTS. He explained:
Since I am just one person, I can’t represent our whole team (BTS). From 2017 to 2018, I did a lot, but now all of our members have varied lifestyles, their own personalities, and we have our boundaries, and I am thankful and lucky that I can talk to the members honestly.
Fans felt this part especially strongly because of the timing. The livestream happened only two days after new rumors about Jungkook and Winter spread online again, this time because people thought the two had matching dog tattoos. The rumor went viral fast, and what made everything feel even louder was the silence from both agencies. BIGHIT MUSIC said at first they were “checking,” but then didn’t release an official statement at all. SM Entertainment stayed silent too.
Because of that, a lot of fans felt RM was indirectly saying that he shouldn’t be expected to clarify or deny things on behalf of adult members who have their own lives. Many also felt that the stress from these outside pressures is part of what he has been carrying for years.
During the live, RM also opened up about the emotional toll of leading BTS. He shared that he has gone through sleepless nights, stress, and moments where he questioned the group’s future. He said he has thought “tens of thousands of times” about whether BTS should take another break or even disband. It was a heavy thing to hear, but he balanced it by reassuring fans that BTS is still committed to each other and to ARMY.
Meanwhile, BTS is set for a massive comeback after nearly four years, scheduled for March 2026. It will be followed by a historic tour, which will reportedly include 65 shows.
