With his upcoming album, RM, the leader of global K-pop sensation BTS, is making waves in more ways than one. His album’s eco-friendly design is setting a new standard for sustainability in the music industry.
Recently, Billie Elish calling out artists for excessive album packages and vinyl releases has sparked a conversation around ecofriendliness and sustainability.
On April 25, when pre-orders for RM’s upcoming album, Right Place Wrong Person, were available, fans were delighted to see ‘Printed by Soy ink’ mentioned on the packaging.
The Wild Flower rapper decided to have his new physical album printed using “SOY INK” derived from soybeans.
In contrast to conventional petroleum-based ink, soy-based ink is considered more eco-friendly. Although it dries slower than many inks, it offers more precise colors and facilitates paper recycling.
It is worth noting here that this is not the first time RM has been environmentally conscious, his previous album’s packaging was also printed with soy ink.
Fans have been giving props to the BTS leader for being so conscious about the environment and backing it up with action.
Lastly, RM’s second solo album, Right Place Wrong Person is slated for May 24.
