The personal bodyguards of actor Byeon Woo Seok have been officially charged with a crime following a recent incident at Incheon International Airport. The bodyguards were accused of using excessive force while escorting him to the airport.
They even went as far as checking the passports of the passengers entering the airport lounge and flashed a light at people in the waiting area.
On August 16, the Incheon Airport Police Department announced that they had arrested and charged four individuals, including the head of Byeon Woo Seok’s private security company, Mr. A, and three bodyguards (two from a security firm and one freelance), with violating the Security Industry Act.
Mr. A and his security team face charges for violating security laws due to their excessive behavior at Incheon Airport on July 12. They allegedly harassed other passengers by taking photos, checking tickets, and denying access to the airport lounge while escorting the Lovely Runner actor.
Byeon Woo Seok faced a lot of criticism for the excessive security at the airport. Eventually, his agency Varo Entertainment and the security company apologized for the bodyguards’ actions at the airport.
The police investigation is ongoing, and may lead to additional charges against Mr. A and others, including allegations of physical assault, coercion, and disrupting airport business operations.
