In a surprise turn of events, BIGBANG’s Daesung has apologized to Sandara Park, a former member of 2NE1, for his past remarks that sparked controversy in the K-pop community.
Daesung’s apology comes after he previously made a comment that 2NE1’s contribution to YG Entertainment was “the least”, a statement that many fans and netizens deemed disrespectful and hurtful.
On May 3, a video was shared on Daesung’s YT channel, with Sandara Park as a guest. He began the conversation by saying, “I made a mistake, I thought I might have offended you. Especially to Minzy, I felt so sorry.”
Sandara Park questioned if he had reached out to Minzy independently, to which he responded by bowing his head and explaining that he does not have Minji’s contact details.
Subsequently, he expressed regret for his past comments. Later, he apologized, acknowledging that Minzy had been likened to him since her debut, a comparison he now realized might not be flattering to a woman.
During his appearance at the Narak Quiz Show, Falling Slowly singer stirred up controversy saying that 2NE1’s contribution to YG Entertainment was the least. When questioned about selecting the member with the least contribution within 2NE1, she ultimately chose Minzy after careful consideration.
Lastly, fans are praising him for accepting his mistake and apologizing.
