In her first public statement since leaving NewJeans, a visibly emotional Danielle addressed fans in a live stream on the evening of January 12, 2026. The former NewJeans member thanked fans and spoke cautiously about the ongoing lawsuit with ADOR.
Danielle began by talking about fan letters, sharing, “Sometimes, late at night, I’d read the letters and messages you guys (Bunnies) sent me, not loudly… but just enough.” She explained that the warmth from those words stays with her.
The Australian-Korean singer spoke carefully about her current situation and the $30 million lawsuit. She said many things are still being worked out, “Right now there are still things that are still being organised,” she said.
Danielle mentioned the legal situation directly, saying, “When the time comes, I’ll update you all about what is happening, about the lawsuit, and about all the things you are curious about.”
She also addressed her departure from NewJeans. The K-pop idol made it clear how hard she tried to stay with NewJeans. “I fought till the very end to be with the members, and that truth stays with me.” She shared that NewJeans will always be part of her. “NewJeans will always have a place in my heart, each member with sincerity.”
Danielle reassured fans that this moment is not a goodbye. “Bunnies, this is not the end, it is only the beginning,” she reassured fans. She spoke about how she wants to live going forward. “In the future days, whether it be music, silence, or those small moments, I want to spend it sincerely and beautifully.”
Danielle shared memories that remain deeply emotional for her. “When I think of Bunnies, the first thing that always comes to my mind is your eye gazes,” she said. She recalled moments on stage, including their first performance and “the silence right before the music.”
She also described the feeling after performances ended. She became emotional while saying, “The feeling that our hearts stayed connected even when the music stopped,” she said, becoming emotional. She added that those memories are still with her. “Those memories are silently kept within me still.”
She also revealed that there is more she wants to share one day. Danielle Marsh said she has been carrying a story in her heart for Bunnies, even if she cannot tell it yet.
The live stream came weeks after major changes in her career. On December 29, last year, ADOR terminated Danielle’s exclusive contract and held her responsible for the dispute and delay in NewJeans’ return. The agency later filed a lawsuit against her, a family member, and former CEO Min Hee Jin. ADOR is seeking over 40 billion won, about 30 million US dollars, in damages.
Danielle has since taken legal action of her own. She appointed legal counsel from the law firm Hwawoo LLC and submitted a power of attorney to the court. During the live, she did not go into details, but acknowledged that the situation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, three NewJeans members, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein, have already returned, whereas negotiations with Minji are still ongoing. Sources say members were not aware of Danielle’s removal, and the latest announcement and lawsuit may influence Minji’s decision about returning to NewJeans.
