NCT’s Doyoung, who has recently debuted as a soloist with the first album YOUTH, is currently occupied with promotional activities and interacting with fans.
The 28-year-old singer has issued a heartfelt apology to fans after sparking controversy by asking them to create an AI-generated cover of his song.
In a recent letter, he explained the reason behind explaining the matter, “It’s a bit serious, but if I don’t talk about this, I feel like neither my sincere words nor the hearts of the fans who support me will be at ease,” and added, “so I’ll write a few words.”
The Little Light singer went on to say, “When chatting with the fans on Melon, I was deeply moved after listening to Sunwoo Jung-A’s The Beginning.” Therefore, he requested fans to create an AI cover, “I want to listen to my own music sung by many singers with voices that I love.’ However, I think I made a mistake due to my shallow thoughts.”
He apologized for his careless remarks, saying, “While preparing for this album with sincerity, I think I easily regarded the content that could distort the value of the voice of singers through AI Vocals. It was my mistake, I won’t be making any excuses. I sincerely apologize to all seniors whom I mentioned, and also to everyone who loves all the singers I mentioned.”
Lastly, he apologized to fans for his ‘unbecoming behavior’ and for ‘creating such a situation.’
Ever since he apologized, fans have been praising Doyoung for acknowledging his mistake and apologizing straight away.
Lastly, Doyoung dropped YOUTH on April 22, all songs are doing well on the domestic charts.
