ENHYPEN is quickly catching up to bigger K-pop groups like BTS and SEVENTEEN in terms of album sales records. Given how rapidly they are gaining popularity overseas, it is not far from when the 7-member group will achieve double-million seller status on the album release day.
According to Hanteo, ENHYPEN’s newly released 6th mini-album, Desire : Unleash, sold 1,890,677 copies on release day. Released on June 5, they came close to 2 million copies, narrowly missing the milestone by 109,323 units.
It is the second-highest 1st-day sales recorded by a K-pop act in 2025 so far, only surpassed by SEVENTEEN’s newly released studio album, Happy Burstday, which sold 2,269,401 copies.
Previously, BELIFT LAB announced that Desire : Unleash recorded 2.18 million pre-orders. The album is expected to surpass two million copies in a day or so.
Notably, they set a personal best with their 6th EP by recording the highest first-day sales. ENHYPEN surpassed the sales recorded by Romance : Untold (1,883,143), Orange Blood (1,383,292), and Dark Blood (1,108,337).
As of writing, the album topped the iTunes Top Album chart in 10 countries, including Mexico, Japan, Indonesia, Russia, Singapore, and more. The lead single, Bad Desire (With or Without You) topped the iTunes Top Song chart in Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Italy, and more.
ENHYPEN’s sixth mini-album, Desire: Unleash dives into the depths of their emotions, exploring the powerful desires they experience in love.
Unlike the previous ROMANCE series, which focused on pure love, this album delves into a darker, more dangerous romance. Here, the members express an irresistible, almost fatal attraction, unable to contain their hidden desires born from a deeper love.
The title track, Bad Desire (With or Without You), is a dance-pop song that captures this intense feeling. It’s a song with a chic vibe that portrays the dominant desire to transform their loved one into a vampire.
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN recently performed at Coachella 2025, their performance received positive reviews from the critics. Moreover, they recently won three awards, including Daesangs, at ASEA 2025, held last month. Next, ENHYPEN will resume Walk The Line world tour with stops in New York (August 6-7), Chicago, IL (August 9), Houston, TX (August 12-13), and LA (August 16).
