The feud between CBX (Chen Baekhyun, and Xiumin) is intensifying as they have both taken legal action. Suho, the leader of EXO, has expressed concern about the conflict between CBX and SM Entertainment.
On June 14, the 33-year-old idol sat down for an interview at the SM Entertainment building in Seoul to mark the end of MBN’s drama ‘The Crown Prince Disappeared’.
Coincidently, just hours before the interview, CBX had released a statement via INB100 addressing a lawsuit filed by SM which seeks a 10% share of sales.
In relation to this, Suho shared, “I and the other members also learned about [CBX’s] press conference and this morning’s situation through articles. Honestly, I feel embarrassed and upset.”
Furthermore, he shared, “More than anything, I felt sorry for the fans. What I’m most worried about is the feelings of the fans. As a leader, I want to say I’m so sorry.”
The Grey Suit singer revealed that the EXO members had a conversation with CBX regarding the issue. According to him, Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin confirmed that the situation was as reported in the article and that they were seeking a resolution from SM Entertainment.
Suho revealed that they also apologized to the EXO members for causing another conflict with the company, following a similar incident last year.
Regarding EXO’s comeback, the group leader mentioned, “We recently held a fan meeting for EXO’s 12th anniversary. We are also preparing a winter album. Sehun and Kai will also be discharged from the military next year,” and added, “We have been planning next year with SM since this year.”
Moreover, he ensured activities to proceed smoothly, promising, “As a leader, I will talk well with the three members,” and continued, “I will try to lead them in a direction that does not cause any disruption to EXO’s activities.”
Recently, CBX’s team held a press conference and initiated a full-on conflict with SM. INB100 claimed that the agreed-upon 5.5% commission rate for music distribution was not upheld for individual activities.
They stated that SM verbally assured them of a 5.5% distribution commission rate. CBX’s team trusted this agreement and signed a contract agreeing to pay SM 10% of sales from individual activities.
