EXO’s Baekhyun Outsells BTS’ Jimin on First Day with Solo Album

EXO Baekhyun and BTS Jimin

EXO’s Baekhyun made a solo comeback after over 3 years!

On September 6, the 32-year-old K-pop vocalist released his 4th mini-album, HELLO, WORLD on all music streaming platforms.

Within a few hours of its release, Baekhyun broke the record for highest 1st-day sales by a K-pop soloist in 2024 on Hanteo, previously held by Jimin from BTS.

With sales of 893,214 copies, the album HELLO, WORLD surpassed the impressive first-day sales of Jimin’s MUSE, which reached 731,114 copies.

With HELLO, WORLD and Bambi, Baekhyun occupies the 5th and 6th places on the coveted Top 10 list of male soloists with the highest first-day sales. He is only trailing behind BTS Jungkook (Golden), V (Layover), SUGA (D-DAY), Jimin (FACE), and Lim Young Woong (IM HERO).

His last album Bambi, released in March 2021, sold 760,154 copies on the first day. Even though he is releasing an album after 3 and a half year, the notable first-day sales show his immense popularity and how much fans have waited for his solo comeback. This comeback is meaningful since it is his first release after setting up independent label, INB100.

His title track Pineapple Slice is swifty climbing up the domestic music charts, Melon, VIBE, and Genie. All the b-side songs (Good Morning, Woo, Truth Be Told, Rendez-Vous, and Cold Heart) from the album are also dominating the music charts and receiving thousands of likes.

On another note, Baekhyun will now actively promote his new album and title track on music shows.
