Mark your calendars—Baekhyun is making his grand return!
The EXO member, who has delivered hit solo releases one after the other, is gearing up to release the 5th mini-album “Essence of Reverie”.
On April 25 at 2 pm KST, his agency INB100 released a teaser for the upcoming mini-album “Essence of Reverie”, out on May 19.
The new teaser video starts with a mysterious elevator scene. The doors open to reveal pillow-shaped dolls spilling out onto the floor. Symbolic phrases adorn the elevator walls, hinting at the album’s themes.
Baekhyun is set to drop his fifth mini album “Essence of Reverie” this May – his first physical musical release since 4th EP “Hello, World” in September 2024. The album sold 1,096,995 copies in the first week and has recorded 1.245 million copies so far.
Prior to releasing solo album “Hello, World”, he went on a solo tour “Lonsdaleite [dot]”, holding 25 shows in 13 cities. The tour wrapped with two encore concerts in Seoul at KSPO Dome in July 2024.
In March this year, he collaborated with American singer-songwriter UMI and EL CAPTIXN for single “Do What You Do”.
Over the years, the versatile artist has meticulously crafted his signature sound through a series of acclaimed solo works. This upcoming album promises to unveil an even more refined version of his artistry.
Since establishing his independent label INB100, the 32-year-old singer is more actively pursuing his career as a soloist.
Baekhyun debuted as a solo artist with mini-album “City Lights” in July 2019 followed by first comeback with a million-seller 2nd mini-album “Delight” the following year. His 3rd mini-album “Bambi” in March 2021, which sold a million copies.
On another note, Baekhyun is facing criticism for his role in EXO’s current hiatus. Many fans believe that the contract dispute between EXO-CBX and SM Entertainment, involving Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin, is the reason for the group’s inactivity. In response, Baekhyun has decided to take legal action against those spreading malicious comments.
Meanwhile, Baekhyun will release 5th mini-album “Essence of Reverie” on May 19 at 6 pm KST.
