2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for SM Entertainment artists, with many soloists returning to the music scene.
SM Entertainment has announced its third-quarter financial results and revealed plans for the first quarter of 2025. The label has hinted at some exciting comebacks of EXO’s Kai, NCT’s Ten, and Red Velvet’s Seulgi.
In addition, the debut plan of their new girl group has also been shared.
EXO Kai, who is set to be discharged from the military on November 7, made quite a splash with his 3rd mini-album “Rover” in March 2023. After releasing his mini album, he began his military service on May 11 last year.
Now that he is returning to the spotlight once again, SM Entertainment has hinted at his return in early 2025.
Seulgi from Red Velvet made her debut as a soloist with the mini-album “28 Reasons” in October 2022. After ending her solo hiatus of over two years, she is set to make her comeback in the 1st quarter of 2025.
Ten, who is a Thai-born member of NCT and WayV, made a solo debut with the mini-album “TEN” in February this year. After a year, he will make his highly-anticipated return in early 2025.
As previously announced, NCT Mark will release his first full-length album in February. With this, he will become the fourth NCT member to debut solo following Taeyong, Ten, Doyoung, and Jaehyun.
Moreover, NCT WISH, who debuted this year, has already made multiple comebacks. They will begin the new year by treating fans to new music.
SM Entertainment’s new girl group was scheduled to debut in the 4th quarter of 2024, as per the previous announcement. Their debut is delayed to early next year, and they are expected to perform at SMTOWN LIVE on January 11-12, 2025.
SM Entertainment’s Q3 financials showed a sharp decline: sales were down 9% to 242.2 billion won, operating profit plummeted 73.6% to 13.3 billion won, and net profit dropped 95.6% to 3.7 billion won.
