The Geffen Records executive is facing backlash for his inappropriate conduct and failure to promote Jimin’s 2nd mini album, MUSE.
Adding to the controversy, he referenced a different artist’s track in a post by Geffen Records regarding Jimin’s pre-release song, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco), set to be released on June 27.
Geffen Records Executive Ray Kurzeka, Head of Streaming, sparked outrage by promoting an unrelated song in comments, calling Gracie Abrams’ us’ (feat. Taylor Swift) ‘Song of the Year.’
Even Billboard and Kmedia have highlighted the unprofessional actions of a Geffen Records official.
Fans are criticizing the US label in charge of distributing Jimin’s album in America, but their representative is unabashedly promoting another artist.
After receiving significant backlash from fans, Ray Kurzeka deleted the post, but it didn’t calm down ARMY’s anger. They are now calling for an apology from the label and have started trending ‘GEFFEN APOLOGIZE TO JIMIN’ on X.
ARMYs are particularly outraged that BIGHIT MUSIC and HYBE have failed to publicly address and condemn the unacceptable behavior of the official.
Lastly, Jimin is set to drop a pre-release track from MUSE on June 27, with the official release set for July 19.
