Haechan from the group NCT received a fine for smoking indoors.
On January 11, SM Entertainment revealed that they have confirmed Haechan’s use of an electronic cigarette indoors in the NCT 127 choreography practice content released January 10. They have further stated their intention to promptly pay the fine for this violation to the local public health center today.
The agency also expressed their sincere apologies for causing concern to many people due to their careless actions. They have emphasized their commitment to taking special precautions to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
After the release of NCT 127’s choreography practice video on the 10th, a clip featuring Haechan smoking indoors with an electronic cigarette started circulating on social media and online communities, causing a lot of controversy.
The scene has now been edited, but some netizens have still filed complaints regarding Haechan’s indoor smoking.
In other news, Haechan is currently taking a break from his activities due to health reasons. He wasn’t able to perform on the stage of NCT 127’s third tour NEO CITY: JAPAN – THE UNITY on January 7 and 8 because he had cold symptoms, body aches, and a high fever.
