Hwang In Youp and Lee Hye Ri are set to headline the upcoming Genie TV original drama Dream to You, as announced on September 24.
The romantic comedy is scheduled for release in 2026 and will air on ENA and be offered as free VOD on KT Genie TV.
Directed by Yoo Seon Dong (The Uncanny Counter, Bad and Crazy, Unmasked) and written by Jung Eun Bi, who has worked on Goblin, Mr. Sunshine, and Doom at Your Service, the drama is already generating buzz thanks to its star power and creative team.
Dream to You tells the story of two young people brought back together by chance after years apart. Hwang In Youp plays Woo Soo Bin, a genius film director who once seemed destined for greatness. After winning major recognition at international film festivals with his debut feature, he returns to Korea at the height of his career.
There, he reunites with his first love and former creative partner, Joo Yi Jae, who represents a part of his past he has never been able to forget.
Hwang In Youp gained popularity through True Beauty and went on to star in Why Her, The Sound of Magic, and the most recent one, Family By Choice.
Lee Hyeri portrays Yi Jae, a passionate and witty reporter known for her sharp instincts, adaptability, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. While she has built a successful career, she carries a sense of emptiness after letting go of her dream of becoming a filmmaker.
When Soo Bin reappears, she is reminded of both her abandoned ambitions and the unfinished romance of her youth.
Hyeri, originally from Girl’s Day, made her acting breakthrough in Reply 1988. She has since led dramas like My Roommate Is a Gumiho, Moonshine, Miss Lee, and Friendly Rivalry.
Speaking about his role, Hwang In Youp shared, “I’m happy and excited to be able to show a new side of myself through the role of ‘Woo Soo Bin.’ I’m doing my best to present a great project together with director Yoo Seon Dong, writer Jung Eun Bi, and many talented actors, so I ask for your support. Lee Hyeri expressed similar excitement, saying, “I think I’ll be able to show many different sides of myself through the role of ‘Joo Yi Jae.’ I’m preparing with an excited heart as well, so please look forward to it.”
With a proven creative team and two beloved leads, Dream to You will air on ENA in 2026.
