Studio Dragon Confirms “Study Group” Season 2
On May 12, Star News exclusively reported that ‘Study Group’ Season 2 is currently in its preliminary planning phase. However, key details, including casting decisions, streaming platform, and final format, remain unconfirmed at this stage.
When reached for comment, the production company Studio Dragon stated: “‘Study Group’ Season 2 is in the early planning stages.”
Season 1 left viewers on the edge of their seats with several unresolved plotlines. Protagonist Yoon Ga Min’s (Hwang Minhyun) journey to get into college is far from over, and the mysterious “Uncle” who trains him still hasn’t revealed his true identity.
The series concluded with teacher Lee Han Gyeong’s resignation, leaving uncertainty over Yuseong Technical High School’s future and Ga Min’s dream of reforming the system.
In addition, Park Geon Yeop’s (Hong Min Gi) storyline seems unfinished, and his new role at Pi Han Ul’s father’s company might lead to interesting developments.
Production Updates
While an official release date has not been announced yet, production is expected to begin by early next year. Lead actor Hwang Minhyun will complete his alternative service on December 20, 2025. If he agrees to reprise his role as Ga Min, the filming will likely begin after his military discharge.
