Hwasa Personally Responds to Public Indecency Controversy

Hwasa has been making headlines recently for her response to a public indecency controversy. The controversy began when the MAMAMOO member performed Dancing Queens on the Road at Sungkyunkwan University. However, she didn’t let the controversy get her down. Instead, she used it as an opportunity to send a powerful message to her fans.

A police complaint was filed by the Student Parents and Human Rights Protection jointly. In the complaint, they claimed suggestive gestures led to the audience feeling discomfort and shame. This controversy happened right after Hwasa left her longtime agency RBW and joined P Nation. 

In response to the police complaint, her current agency, P Nation, briefly responded stating that “We understand that the police are reviewing the case”. 

Owing to her bold personality, she is not new to criticism or controversies. Throughout her career, the singer has handled trolling, criticism, and body-shaming head-on. However, this time the criticism has gone a bit far as the police complaint is filed. 

In a post on Instagram, Hwasa shared photos of herself vacationing with her friends and the singer Lee Hyori. Soon after the post was shared, MooMoos started praising the singer for her IDGAF energy. Her post implied that she was unfazed by the police complaint and living her best life.

That’s not it, she also addressed the recent controversy on July 15 at PSY’s Summer Swag festival at Yeosu. During the concert, the “Twit” singer performed all of her hit songs and interacted with the audience in between performances. 

Hwasa shared with the audience that her voice was not in the best condition today due to a sore throat. Therefore, she may not be able to hit the high notes right. She further added that she worries more about not hitting the high notes right than getting sued. The crowd loved her response and supported her with loud cheers.

As soon as her response videos started surfacing online, MooMoos applauded the singer for her courage and boldness. Many went on to declare her the IDGAF award winner. 

Hwasa’s post quickly went viral, with fans all over the world sharing it on social media and praising her for her bold and empowering message. Instead of letting the controversy get her down, she used it as an opportunity to send a powerful message to her fans.
